Cold Pressed Ucuuba Butter

Sourced from the Amazon Rainforest

In the Tupi language, the dialect of the Amazonian peoples, Ucuuba means "butter tree", its etymology comes from the words UKU (fat) and UBÁ (tree). Formerly used in folk medicine to treatment a range of diseases, the Indians used to carry Ucuuba serum from the seeds during their travels to apply to wounds.

Native to Central and South America, Ucuuba Butter is a natural butter cold pressed from the seeds of the Ucuuba tree producing a light brown, hard and dry consistency butter.

This butter instantly reminds you of Fall and has a beautiful honey hue. The aroma can be best described as nutmeg, cinnamon, and some spices with a splash of fresh earthiness. This butter would be a very good contender in haircare recipes, especially if combined with Jojoba in some capacity.

Ucuuba is nearly 70% Myristic Acid, however it would be great for products that cleanse ex. soaps, wash off creams, hair conditioners, shaving products, etc.

Ucuuba also has similar behavior to Beeswax and can be used as an emulsifying agent.

Ucuuba Butter is said to have anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties and as such is ideal for treating acne, eczema and dry or irritated skin. Also considered to have anti-aging properties, this butter can be used to help replenish, tone and moisture to dry and mature skin.
