Why is my Hair Shedding?

Medicines and Pills

Pharmaceutical Medications

This is usually the easiest to figure out. I have found that people who are on certain medications like those taken for blood pressure issues or lupus seem to easily shed the hair around their hairlines.

Natural alternatives such as a healthy stress free lifestyle and balanced diet can help reduce the need for your prescribed medication and cleansing the liver to rid your body of residue can do wonders to restore your hairline and bring back your healthy head of hair.

Poor Hair Care

Hair can be sensitive and needs to be taken care of and/or maintained just like and other part of your body.

If you are not practicing great hair care techniques like moisturizing, conditioning and protecting your strands they can get dry/brittle and break. Usually from the forming of split ends.

One way to prevent your hair from drying is to utilize a special pillow case one that does not suck the moisture from your hair.

TRACTION ALOPECIA

In a nutshell this is what happens when your hair is pulled too tightly, to prevent this form of hair loss you should be gentle with your hair. Do not allow it to be pulled into styled that are extremely tight.

STRESS

Stress is a HUGE reason for hair shedding, many people suffer unnecessary hair loss regularly just from being stressed out. Meditation and finding ways to just relax and not let the weight of the world bog you down can do wonders for your hair health.

DEHYDRATION

Not enough water can cause your hair to fall in large amounts as well. Be sure to drink plenty of water to hydrate your scalp. Seriously, your scalp is skin!
